The story I’m contributing to Weald is Orin and the Dead Man’s Sword. Lost in a flooded post-glacial forest, Orin comes across dangerous creatures, an ancient road and a very tempting treasure.
This is the first chapter in Orin’s journey through a world I’ve built off of Pleistocene landscapes and wildlife, especially those from the history of my own home on Lake Ontario. I’m really excited to pit him against megafauna, glacial melt and ancient relics that owe as much to palaeontology as they do to the worlds of Howard and Tolkien.
All further comic updates are going to be on the dedicated Weald anthology tumblr now! Thanks, followers, for your support so far, it’s really coming together and I’m so excited!
